Junior Community Animator

Position Type:   Seasonal Full-Time, 35 hours per week for 8 weeks (daytime hours, Monday – Friday)

Total Hours:      280

Compensation:  $16.55/hour

Start Date:         **May 27, 2024**

Anticipated End Date:    July 19, 2024

Location:            The Exchange, 55 Healey Rd. Unit 1, Bolton, ON

Summary of Responsibilities:  Under the leadership of the Manager, Community Animation, the incumbent will be responsible for:

·       Assists in the daily operations of Exchange activities including group events, workshops, community engagement, partnership development, and food support programming;

·       Communicates with clients for appointment scheduling, program registration and volunteer scheduling;

·       Updates and maintains confidential client information databases;

·       Conducts regular inventory & inspection of Exchange facilities and supplies;

·       Liaises with community partners to ensure adequate volumes of food support donations;

·       Schedules and coordinates food support donations including receiving and sorting of items;

·       Working with and assisting program volunteers;

·       Assist with front desk reception – greeting, guiding and supporting Exchange visitors;

·       Maintains overall facility and personal workspace / equipment cleanliness and sanitizing along with co-workers while using provided PPE;

·       Other duties as assigned to assist the program.

·       Post-secondary field of study that would be an asset to this position:  social services, social work, human services, community development, or related field;

·       Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;

·       Proficiency with MS Office 365 (web), database skills, e-mail and internet usage;

·       Able to conduct some heavy lifting of boxes or irregularly shaped donations from time to time;

·       Police records check will be required.

To be eligible for this Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must:

-Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of the employment*
