Status: Full-Time – 35 hours per week
Location: Mississauga (with local travel), In-person/On-site
Compensation: $115,000 – $125,000 per annum

Position Summary:
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role within both the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Departmental Management Team (DMT).
At the core of your responsibilities is the leadership of our internal operations with a keen emphasis on nurturing positive organizational accountability, driving effective employee engagement and fostering innovation to amplify operational efficiency.
In your role, you will be instrumental in mentoring and developing a high-performing team dedicated to fostering a service-oriented culture that remains responsive to the ever-evolving needs of the communities we serve. The departments under your leadership include Health Services, Family Services, Newcomer Services, IT & Maintenance and Community Development. In addition, you will maintain critical dotted-line reporting relationships with our HR, Finance, Fundraising and Marketing departments, ensuring integrated operational support that spans employee engagement, financial management and communication strategies.
Equally vital is your role as a bridge builder, actively nurturing professional relationships with community stakeholders and funders at all levels. Your ability to remain attuned to region-wide initiatives and developments within the sector is instrumental in our mission’s continued success.

Responsibilities and Duties: (but not limited to)
* Oversee operations, privacy, facilities and maintenance including staff relations letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements.
* Provide guidance and leadership through management of program metrics and measurement reporting process.
* Oversee administrative and facility functions for all Indus sites, ensuring smooth daily operations of offices and program sites.
* Provide staff support and guidance to the Indus Board of Directors and act as liaison to relevant board and staff committees.
* Champion the integration of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles into all aspects of the organization’s operations, fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace culture.
* Accountable for the management of assigned databases such as Caseworks, iCARE, Harts and other databases integral to Indus’ operations/financials, including staff training, ensuring data accuracy, running reports, and maintaining the overall integrity of all operational and/or financial data.
Communication and Reporting
* Liaise with the CEO and keep them informed of all issues emerging.
* Attendance at Indus’ Board meetings is required; participation in committee meetings will be as needed.
* Attend ELT meetings and lead the DMT meetings.
* Effectively facilitate meetings to ensure productive discussions and decision-making processes.
Programs & Services
* Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organization’s programs and services, including statistical reporting compliance.
* Ensure that the programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization’s mission and Strategic Plan, while providing a high level of client services, and develop and implement Service Improvement Plan as needed.
* Oversee the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of new and special projects.
Financial Management and Operational Oversight
* Working with the Director provide input to all financial and business planning activities.
* Identify, assess and manage operational, financial and reputational risks to safeguard the organization’s mission and assets
Human Resources
* Working with the Director provide input to the human resource functions for Indus.
* Foster a positive work environment and actively engage employees to enhance their connection to the organization’s mission and goals.

* Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Business/Public Administration or a related field, preferably with a Masters or equivalent advanced education.
* Demonstrated strong operational experience and business acumen: ideally with over a decade of experience in senior management roles within socially responsible organizations.
* Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, including the ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
* Proficiency in various areas including, human resources, finance, information technology, legal/risk management and project management.
* Capability in organizational development, personnel management, and tactical planning with a track record of successfully developing talent.
* Exceptional people skills enabling effective collaboration with a dynamic leadership team.
* Personal attributes of integrity, credibility, diplomacy and a strong commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
* Flexibility and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, while driving toward clarity and innovative solutions.
* Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and managing investments in people and systems.

* Strong judgment and initiative in resolving complex issues in both personnel and operational areas.
* Experience working at a policy level and driving advocacy initiatives within an established network on behalf of individuals, families and caregivers.
* Demonstrated ability and experience in developing grant and program funding proposals for various sources including government, foundations, corporate and private funders.
* Knowledge and experience in facilities management and related maintenance issues.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas, plans and strategies.
* A strong understanding of and experience in working with members of diverse cultural and racial backgrounds coupled with a commitment to inclusive and equitable service delivery.
* Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and to work from various organizational sites as required.
* Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
