Caledon Specialist Clinic – Why travel out of town?
Local Specialist Care: What you need. Where you need. When you need it.
With a referral from a primary care physician or a nurse practitioner, residents of the community can receive services from specialists at the Caledon Specialist Clinic in downtown Bolton.
Specialist fields include:
Paediatrics and more!
Located at 18 King Street, unit L9 in the Royal Courtyards, just east of Queen Street. The Caledon Specialist Clinic operates two exam rooms concurrently. Specialists have been recruited from Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) and William Osler Health System (WOHS). As the service grows, it is expected other specialists will become part of the clinic’s services.
The clinic also boasts the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN),which allows specialties such as Psychiatry or Dermatology to support patients via videoconferencing.
All visits to the Caledon Specialist Clinic are private, confidential and covered under The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Transportation to the clinic is available for seniors and people with disabilities via CCS.
WOHS offers Diabetes Education Clinics on-site in Bolton, regularly throughout each month.
Quotes from local doctors:
“I am happy to find the health services reaching the patients in Bolton, instead of the patients going to them. This is what the specialty clinic is offering our community.” - Dr. El Khouly
“I have utilized the Caledon specialist clinic for my patients several times in its first month and have received nothing but positive feedback from my patients,” - Dr. Michael Gagnon
“I was very to excited to hear about the opening of the Caledon Specialist Clinic as a result of the close collaboration between Caledon Community Services, Headwaters Health Care Centre, William Osler Health System and the Central West LHIN. This is an excellent opportunity for primary care providers to have access to specialist consultation service in a timely fashion. I was pleasantly surprised when my patients got an appointment as early as the next day, given the usual waiting time to see a specialist. It is also great for our patients to have excellent care in a convenient location,” - Dr. Ioana Tita
The Clinic also offers meeting space for non-clinical events such as webinars and health-related activities. Community health service providers are encouraged to use OTN and this meeting space for their training and services.
