Caledon Exchange, St. Mike’s partner to teach about Haiti

Students to host ‘Haiti staycation’

So what’s it actually like?

Recently, it was back in the news. The country of Haiti. This time, thankfully, it wasn’t due to a terrible weather catastrophe, but the effects weren’t great.

A particular world leader used a term to describe countries, including the island nation, that made the rounds.

Now, students at St. Michael’s Catholic Secondary School, partnered with Caledon Community Services and The Exchange, are welcoming members of the public to The Exchange on Friday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the presentation ‘Haiti up-close’ to learn and familiarize themselves with everything Haiti.

A social justice class from St. Michael Catholic Secondary School is hosting a Haiti staycation.

Those who visit will learn all about the country, sample Haitian food, and help create milk bag mats.

Space is limited.
