Position Type: FT, 35 hours/week (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m)

Position Overview
The Food Procurement/Facility Associate role is ideal for those who love to work independently and stay active, while being supported by a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. The Food Procurement/Facility Associate will be responsible for securing food and maintaining the Exchange.
Position Deliverables/Accountabilities: Under the general direction of the Food Bank Manager, the incumbent will:
· Obtain food donations from the various local grocery stores, restaurants and other businesses
· Purchase product to supplement insufficient supplies
· Accurately record all food items acquired
· Performs opening and closing procedures (a key holder for the facility)
· Performs daily facility maintenance as required by accreditation and Health & Safety
· Provides back-up support to client deliveries
· Provides back-up support to the warehouse area
· Ensure adherence to proper practices for perishable food products
· Work safely and efficiently while adhering to all company and health and safety policies and procedures
· Participates in regular mandatory staff meetings and training as required
· Additional hours may be required during the peak season.

Core Job Posting Requirements/Criteria:
• Minimum High School or equivalent;
• 2 years driving experience; Valid Ontario “G” Class driver’s license with clear driving record;
• Ability to drive in all seasons; Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures;
• Experience driving commercial vehicles an asset;
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance requirements an asset;
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to safe work practices (i.e. health and safety, safe food storage);
· Ability to maintain a clean and orderly workspace;
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.;
· Ability to bend/crouch, to retrieve materials and products;
• Effective Communicator; Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable interacting with the public;
• Committed to working with a team to build a great customer experience;
• Passionate about helping others;
• Satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
